I got up early and then proceeded to think of every excuse in the book to not go out and ride. I eventually left the house about 10:30am to ride up to my buddy Dan's house since he moved up into Topanga Canyon around xmas and I haven't been up there yet. 

I decided that since I've already ridden up Topanga Canyon a few times I would do something different and take Old Topanga Canyon which is why if you look at the map of the ride it looks like a sperm.

I won't bore you too much detail and just let you look at the pretty pictures. I would like to say that there were more people out riding today than I have ever seen in my life. Maybe it's people with new new years resolutions. Maybe it's people getting ready for a new season of racing. Whatever it is, it's nice. I wave to everyone I see. Sometimes they wave back. I do want to say that coming down Old Topanga Canyon toward Mullholland I was doing 43 mph and feeling like a badass and then a guy came from behind me and passed me like I was standing still. He also passed the car that was in front of me...
